Projet de protection des especes vegetatles et animales dans la region de l'Oudalan

The project is a follow-up to the current project 9AF335A. Assistance is asked to finalise the inventory of the threatened plants species that are/were present in the region and used in traditional culture. Two botanical gardens will be created to revitalise the knowledge about these plants and an orchard will be created to increase the incomes of women and to contribute to improvement of household nutrition. Theatre plays and traditional media (TV, radio, press) will be used as an instrument to sensitize communities on the need to protect the fauna and flora of the Ouadalan region.

The project is a follow-up of project 9AF335A. An inventory is made of threatened plant species that are/were present in the region and used in traditional culture. Two botanical gardens were created and 30 women were trained in tree planting and management of income generating trees (Andropogon and Zizyphus). Four sessions have been held to revitalise the knowledge about threatened plants and to spread the conservation message.
